Home?

For anyone who thought that you would never experience reverse culture shock, i guess you were wrong. It is funny how we hardly needed to adapt when we got to canberra. But coming back is an entirely different cup of tea. Leaving friends behind was just as bad as leaving our families when we first left.

It has been a mere four months. Four months which seemingly whizzed by without anyone noticing. There were incidents aplenty. The good times, the bad, the dissapointing. Friendships were forged. Some drifted while others were reinforced.

Coming back to Singapore made me feel nervous. Just being inside a singapore airlines flight made me feel like i was in Singapore. The flight attendants speaking to each other in singlish littered with drabs of mandarin. It was all almost alien.

Being away only makes Singapore's flaws more obvious. Some aussies may be cunts and some hurl glass bottles from car windows but the majority of the population have a lot more grace when compared to the singaporeans population. An apology is a foreign concept to most here and uttering a word of thanks takes a lot of force. Maybe it's the heat and the polluted air.

At least we will be meeting for lunch tommorrow! I am dying of boredom. And to those in canberra, take care of yourselves. Don't do anything stupid and remember the sunblock!
